Description
You are bidding on a very rare original antique engraving from an 1860s French illustrated journal.It depicts a Persian horseman calling in his falcoms after a successful hunt. His beautiful greyhound looks lovingly up at him. He is on a beautiful white arabian horse. Nice old falconry print.
The caption roughly translates to: The return of the falconer
There is also has a 26-inch article related to the picture that starts on the back of the print and continues to the front. It is in French, but free computer translation programs make it easy to translate.
The page measures approximately 10.4 x 7.5 inches (26.5 x 19 cm). The picture itself fills about half the page, and measures about 8.6 x 5.5 inches, with a French caption below. It is surrounded by unrelated text. The text could easily be trimmed before framing, or hidden under a window mat.
The page is in excellent condition for its age.
